Chemistry 09/25/2023 Today, we completed the Phase Change activity dealing with the difference between physical changes and chemical changes. We started the Intensive and Extensive Properties activity dealing with changes that may be observed in different sam ples of the same element. We will finish it tomorrow in class. 09/26/2023 Today we completed the Intensive and Extensive Properties Interactivity. 09/28/2023 Today we reviewed the eText for the Particle Nature of Matter. I expect to have a study Kahoot ready for tomorrow, follwoed by a quiz either Monday or Tuesday of next week. Life Science 09/25/2023 Today we discussed domains and reviewed the levels of classification diagram. We encouraged students to learn the acronym "Dear King Phillip, Come Over For Good Spagehtti to helpmemeorze the following classification levels: Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, Species Tomorrow we will work on Binomial Nomneclature and start the Interactivity: Classify It" in class. 09/26/2023 Today we completed binomial nomenclature and completed the Interactivity: Classify It in class. We also determined that if a Gorn from Star Trek is from the Genus "Alien Lizard" and the Species "Gorn" it's scientific name would be Alien lizard gorn. 09/28/2023 Today, we finished the Madagascar virtual lab exercise and worked on the eText that is due tomorrow. Earth Science 09/25/2023 Today we covered GIS maps and viewed examples of them for Ashland and Boyd County. That completed the material covered on Section 1.2. The eText: Surface Features in the Geosphere is due tomorrow at the start of class. As of this note, 5 of 12 have completed the assignment.The quiz is tentatively scheduled for Thursday. 09/26/2023 Due to access issues with Savvas yesterday evening, we spent class today completing the Interactivity: Topographic Maps. The eTest: Surface Features in the Geosphere was also due at start of class today. Those who did not complete the assignment may turn it in tomorrow by start of class to earn half credit. Those who do not have it complete by then will not be scored. The Lesson 1.2 Check was assigned for completion as homework and is due at the the start of class tomorrow (Wednesday). 09/28/2023 Today we covered the Lesson 1.2 Review. We expect to have a study Kahoot ready for class tomorrow, followed by a quiz on Monday. Physical Science 09/25/2023 Today we reviewed how to clalcuate density (Mass/Volume) and completed the Interactivity: Calculating Density. The eText: Measuring Matter is due at start of class, September 27. As of this note, nobody had started on the assignment. 09/26/2023 Today we spent the class in the lab completing the uInvestigate Lab: Observing Physical Properties. 09/28/2023 Today we calculated density from mass and volume and used those values to identify five minerals. We also compared the effects of gravity on weight with the Interactivity: Weight on the Moon. Physics 09/25/2023 Today we viewed a vidoe on the sailing stones of Death Valley National Park and worked on the Interactivity: Modeling Motion. We will finish that assignment Wednesday. Computer/Microsoft Office 09/26/2023 Today we wrapped up exercises on document functionality and will be completing a proficiency demonstration exercise on Thursday. 09/28/2023 Today we had the students do a performance demonstration of the concepts covered over the last two weeks. |
